Abstract
This study was done in menoufia governonate , a multistage random technique was applied for two primary schools, one from unborn area and the other from rural area, the unit of study was random sample of 592 pupils aged between (6 – 10 ) years.each student was examined for : visual acuity using landoltbroken ring test, height and weight.a special questionnaire was designed for mother including:personal data and about past history of a child havingeye disease children with visual acuity less than 6/9 in one or both eyes were examined subsequently by a specialist to be received detailed eye examination .the study was designed to show the magnitude of the problem of ametropia among primary school children and the main ecological factors determining this problem.
