Abstract The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the results of treatment of chronic anovulatory infertile patients with PCOS resistant to medical treatment by using different modalities of ovarian drilling including, laparoscopic electric ovarian drilling, laparoscopic mechanical ovarian drilling and trans-vaginal mechanical ovarian drilling and compare the effect of the procedures on clinical manifestations, hormonal levels and pregnancy rate. In conclusion: * The different modalities of ovarian drilling, all give good results as regards the regularity of the cycles, occurrence of ovulation and pregnancy rates. * Trans vaginal ovarian drilling appears to by an alternative minimally, invasive and less expensive in patients with PCOS who are resistant to clomiphene therapy, when compared to laparoscopic ovarian drilling. * Ovarian drilling renders the ovaries more responsive to clomiphene therapy |
