Abstract The aim of this study is to verify the efficacy of excimer laser(argon-fluoride 193 nm)in the management of superficial corneal opacities. In conclusion: Age and sex variables proved to have minimal effect-it any-on the outcome of phototherapeutic keratectomy (PPTK) This study was not originally designed to compare between the different laser machines. The subsidiary results and statistics that we got in this study-concerning this issue verified by a further strictly controlled study specifically designed for that comparison–need to be PTK proved to be effective in the treatment of superficial corneal opacities with statistically significant results between the pre-and postoperative (bscva, discomfort index .and corneal clarity score).thus, improving the visual acuity, alleviating the symptoms associated with superficial corneal opacities and increasing the corneal clarity. The most common complication of PTK is hyperopic shift so, it is wise to combine photorefractive keratectomy (PRK)with PRK in myopic patients: the procedure is less favorable in hyperopic. |
