Abstract Aim of the work The aim of this work is to evaluate the triple therapy and the efficacy of ranitidine (H2 receptor antagonist: H2.R.A.) and lansoprazole (proton pump inhibitor: P.P.I) when each is combined with metronidozole and amoxicillin in the improvement of gastric and duodenal disorders and the eradication of H. Pylori infection. Conclusion On the basis of lower cost of Ranitidine when compared with Lansoprazole and absence of major differences between them in healing of gastrodeudenal disorders and eradication of H. Pylori Ranitidine is more suitable in triple therapy than lansoprazole especially in developing countries. Recommendations 1- Use of triple therapy in cases of peptic ulcer disease due to H.Pylori infection. 2- Ranitidine is equally effective like Lansoprazole so, Ranitidine is recommended for use in eradication of H.Pylori healing of gastro-deudenal disorders. |
