Abstract Knitting industry is considered on of the most important branches of textile industries.Its production from knitted fabrics resemble about half of worldwide textile production.Thetublar knitted fabric which produced on the circular knitting machine is influenced by differenr processing parameters.These parameters affect the fabric quality and the machine performance.In the present work the effect of take Down tension on the fabric geometrical parameters and the machine performance of the circular knitting machines has been studied,using different raw materials,Yarn counts yarn feed lengths input yarn tensions and fabric spreader widths.Also the relationships between both take-Down tension and input yarn tension has been determined.The obtained results indicated that varying the take-Down tension affect significantly the stitch length of single jersey fabric but did not affect that of both rib abd interlock fabrics significantly.The effect of take down tension on the fabric dimensional stability expressed on the percentage of areal shrinkage of single jersey fabric was found simillar to that of stitch length. |
