Abstract The primary purpose of this work is to develop a procedure for modeling distillation column at steady state oneration and in the process of separating multi- Cf):noonent •.,i xtures. 1 n order to evaluate the different proP,);:ur\ ”1 ’1”101 i Hp’; pro:-”pdu r’es, awide ra~ge of nerfonn:~nce t i on column at lex;:ll1d 1’ia Pe troleum Company gypt. .A.R.Three steps wer’e considered for rnodeling the (’:’1<umn : the first step was to determine the enthalphy and vanor equ i 1 i brium con,,; tants ( to b~ ’tsed in its gq U:’; t ion) by a regression method biased on Gaussian elimination tech- niques. The second step comprised the use of a developed model to handle a distillation column instead of packed columns and testing the model using the desi~n data. The thirc\ step was to opvelop the model to handll~ a mn 1 Li-<component actionation column having 51 trays. The model is subjected to round-off error and when tested with lower number of tray it was suited to and gavea good results, this was due to the recurrence formula of the tridiagonal matrix are subjected to round-off en”or for columns which have both a large number of plat08 and components whose respetive absorption factors are less. |
