Abstract The lake Manzalah is the most important among all the Egyptian lakes; it produced about 30 % of the total fishery production in the Egypt. The lake is divided into small poles ”called Bahr”. Each one has a unique characteristics of water quality, sediment type and bottom fauna. There are seven drains discharged into lake Manzalah, three main of them located at the southern point, run off more than 78% of the discharged freshwater into the lake. Over the last few decades, lagoon Manzalah has undergone dramatic environmental changes, the present study gives aclue about the present situation of the lagoon. |
