Abstract
the present study was initated to compara between some aspects of population characteristics and genetrical stuructur of the coleopterous insects,blaps sulcata and akis reflexa from asite of relatively clean air reference at burg el arab city 53km west of alexandria and other site at a distance 3km from a cement factory contaminated at el hammam city 62km west of Alexandria. Analysis of heavy metals cu, Pb, Co, Zn, Cd, Cr, Ni in soil samples revealed that metal concentrations at burg el arab are fairly allied with the established natural levels except for pb. on the other hand soil at cement works exhibited high amount of Pb, Co, Zn, and Cd than the established natural levels.
