Abstract
The present work was performed on some synthetic antifungal drugs asItraconazole and Nystatin), natural one as (Propolis), combination between (Itraconazole and Propolis) and (Nystatin and Propolis) to study side effects for each drug alone and after its combination with Propolis.This study was carried out on sixty male rabbits weighting 500 gm which were divided into 6 groups (1-6).Each group contained 10 rabbits. Rabbits in all groups were 30 days old.Gp.(1),rabbits were kept as control group for gps.(2-6).Rabbits were orally given Itraconazole (9.3 mg\ kg B.W),Nystatin (1 ml daily),Propolis (4.6 mg\kg B.W),combination of the half therapeutic dose form Itraconazole and Propolis and combination of the half therapeutic dose from Nystatin and Propolis in gps.(2,3,4,5 and 6),respectively. This occured daily for one month using esophageal tube then stopping administration of drugs for 7 days. In all groups, blood samples were collected after 15thand 30th days from starting drugs administration and 7 days from stopping drugs administration, from five rabbits in each group.Two blood samples were collected from the marginal ear vein.The 1st sample was five ml of blood without anticoagulant in a sterile test tube for separation of serum for biochemical tests. The 2nd sample was 1 ml of blood was taken in clean Wasserman tubes containing disodium salts of EDTA for hematological examination
