Abstract The Phosphate deposites-or Phosphorites assometimes called-are sedimentary formationsm usually of marine origin and have different goelogic ages (Paleozoic to Tertiary). They were deposited in both geosynclinal and platform enironments. According to Gimmelfarb (1956) and Schatsky (1956) Phosphates deposited in geosynclinal conditions are usually associated with siliceous carbonate rocks, while those deposited in platfrom conditions are usually associated with sands and clays. |
