Abstract This study was carried out on 50 nurses working in the surgical units of Port Said general hospitals. The aim of this study was to ”””””” nurses’ knowledge and prnctice regardiog post-operati¥e wound infuctions. The data ’MIS collected using two tools; The first tool ’’Structured inteMew sheet” which consisted of 47 items related to Demographic data and surgical wound inli:etion. The second tools ”Observation checklist” that was related to dressing techniques and wound characteristics. The results of this study indicated that nurses working in tbe snrgical units had an umatisliictory level of knowledge and practice related to post-<>perotive wound infuction. Nevertheless there was a significant differeoo:: between their knowledge and practice in that field. It was also round that the socio-demogmpltic characlerislics had no impact on nurses knowledge and practice fur postoperative wound inli:etion. |
