Abstract Bovine corona virus Antigen( BCV) was prepared from reference Mebus strain of BCV in laboratory after adaptation and propagation for three successive passages in MDBK cell line, then inoculated in laboratory animals ( rabbits and guinea pigs )for preparation of hyper immune sera which tested by serum neutralization test for estimating level of antibodies. The best neutralizing antibody titres against BCV in tested sera of both guinea pigs and rabbits were 1/128 and 1/256 respectively. These titers were used in antigen capture ELISA after concentration of immunoglobulins of rabbit serum. A total of 144 faecal samples were collected from newly born diarrheic calves distributed in six different Governorates in upper and Lower Egypt. This samples were tested by antigen capture ELISA using the prepared immune sera . the result showed that 41 faecal samples ( 28.4%), less than one month age were tested and also 77.7%, 75%, 73.3% and 66.6% from Qaliobia, Kafr El Sheikh, Fayoum and Dakahlia Governorates respectively. Negative reactors were obtained from calves (2-3) months age in Sharkia and (Bni Suief Governorates (4% and 4.5% respectively. |
