Abstract The present work was carried out on 23 heads of healthy buffalo of different ages and sexes. 19heads were used for topographical ingestion and 4 heads for histological confirmation of some anatomical findings. For topographical purposes, description of the pharyngeal cavity, tonsils, soft palate and the pharyngeal and palatine muscles was performed. Also different dimension of the pharynx and soft palate at different levels were measured. The arterial blood and nerve supply of the pharynx were studied by careful dissection. The origin, course and distribution of the pharyngeal ramie were described in detail. Photographs for the topographical anatomy of the pharynx and soft palate as well as the blood and nerve supply were plotted. |
