Abstract This study was carried out in Assiut University Hospital to determine the amount of nursing care provided to each patient, to measure patient satisfaction towards the care provided and to determine the relationship between the provided nursing care and patient satisfaction. The nursing sample consisted of all staff nurses currently assigned to the twelive in-patient units, all general medical, surgical, urology and chest units. The total number of nurses amounted (149). The patient sample of (110 patients) representing 25% of the total population of patients who were currently receiving care on the twelve in-patient units that were included in the study. The study of how nursing personal time was being utilized was determind by the use of the activity sampling technique direct intermittent observation of all nursing personal, on twelve units. A team of six trained observers in addition to the researcher were used for the observation part of the study. |
