Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a particularly common feature of male aging and is considered to be responsible for urinary symptoms in a large group of men over the age of 40 yearsTURP is now considered to be the gold standard for the surgical management of BPH with subjective and objective success rate of about 90%.
In an attempt to reduce the morbidity and cost of this procedure, a number of minimally invasive therapeutic modalities have emerged.
The aim of our study on 44 patients with lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia is to evaluate one of less invasive modalities, TUIP, and to compare the results to the TURP as an established modality.
The follow up for 6 moths with evaluation based on symptom scoring (International Continence Society (ICS) male questionnaire), quality of life, Danish Prostate Symptom Score sexual function questionnaire (DAN-PSSsex), uroflometry and postvoiding residual urine.Patients with suspicious or proved carcinoma of the prostate, patients with severe medical or urological problems and patients with prostates above 40 gm are excluded from the study.

The first group is subjected to TURP and the second group is subjected to TUIPWe find that TUIP has almost the same results as of TURP with less morbidity. Thus we can recommend TUIP to replace TURP in selected casesWe consider that proper diagnosis and evaluation of patients with.
