Abstract There has been a considerable increase in interconnections in electric power systems over the years. This is to satisfy the continous needs for generating more electric power and to get benefits from the unified power system grid. Large generators are installed to supply its output via a high voltage transmission system. These factors have adversely affect power system stability, operation and control requirements. A possible way of overcoming these problems is by developing the promising superconducting machines, which are expected to have higher efficiency, smaller size and weight, improved system stability and possible generation at bus voltages. |
