Abstract MALT lymphoma is a low-grade B-cell lymphoma. In 2008 WHO classification of B cell lymphoid neoplasms, MALT lymphoma has been classified as a discrete clinicopathological entity. A retrospective study of 45 cases of MALT lymphoma that were histomorphologically corresponded to MALT lymphoma. Histopathological landmarks of all cases were recorded and Immunohistochemical staining for CD20, CD3, IgM, BCL10, CD5 and CD10 was done. Twenty-six cases of primary MALT lymphoma, seventeen cases were of reactive nature and the remaining two cases were DLBCL. All MALT lymphoma cases were CD20 positive and CD3 negative. Twenty four cases were IgM positive. Twenty one were BCL10 positive. High percentage of MALT lymphoma expressed BCL10 and as strong nclear and nucleocytoplasmic. However reactive cases showed only weak cytoplasmic staining. So, Bcl10 protein may have role in diagnosis of MALT lymphoma. So it can be added to CD20, CD3, IgM helping in its differentiation from benign lymphoproliferative disorders and other small cell lymphoma |
