Abstract Paratuberculosis or johne’s disease is chronic wasting disease, which is characterized by watery diarrhea, loss of weight and decrease of production accompanied with emaciation. The disease is caused by Mycobacterium avium subsp. paratuberculosis, which is also incriminated as a cause of crohn’s disease in human. Collection of 109 fecal and serum samples from dairy cattle in Egypt were tested with acid-fast staining, culture, ELISA and IS900 PCR. |
