Abstract Babesiosis is a common tick borne disease of dogs in tropical and subtropical regions of the world caused by different species of Babesia. Microscopic examination of Giemsa stained thin blood smears collected from 120 doges revealed the presence of large intra-erythrocytic Babesia parasite in 10 dogs (8.33%). An available enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used for the detection of anti-B. |
