Abstract

Experimental tests have been carried out to study the behavior of different single store frames with brick masonry infills under the in-plane lateral load influence. The frames were divided into four phases was summarized.
In the first phase, test was conducted on model frame representing individual reinforced concrete bare frame used as control frame.
Second phase tests was conducted on two model frames representing individual reinforced frame infilled with masonry panels, first frame constructed with base beam and two columns, constructed wall between two columns, finally, constructed the top beam, second frame constructed as bare frame and infilled with masonry.
Third phase, reinforced concrete frames infilled with masonry panels and strengthened with different methods to improve its behavior. Glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) sheets cover the two adjustment strip of concrete and masonry, steel impeded in concrete frame to assure a contact between frame and masonry, plastering and ferrocement meshes over the two adjustment strips of concrete and masonry.
Fourth phase, reinforced concrete frames infilled with masonry panels and provide with steel dowels including different rectangle opening with variable dimension and positions in masonry panel.
The drift, toughness, ductility and failure load were used as comparable controls at analysis of frames behavior.
