Abstract Background: Multi-detector CT is a recent development in the spiral CT that allows reliable visualization of normal valve morphologic features and function as well as congenital or acquired structural valvular abnormalities through Contrast material–enhanced ECG-gated CT angiography . Objectives: To investigate the ability of Multi-detector CT in assessment of cardiac valve disease. Conclusion: Cardiac MDCT provides an excellent imaging method for illustrating cardiac valve disease especially mitral and aortic valve yet there is work to be done in order to improve cardiac MDCT assessment of cardiac valve disease especially pulmonary and tricuspid valve. |
