Abstract The combustion characteristics of LPG diffusion flame using different air swirler rotation speeds are studied. The lean blow-off limits, reverse flow zone, temperature distribution, visible flame length and shape also exhaust species concentrations are measured. The studied parameters are: the swirl number, the air to fuel mass ratio and the air swirler rotation speed. An experimental test rig was designed to investigate the all previous parameters. Increasing swirler rotation speed ; the stable region increases, the RFZ size is clearly increases, the high temperature zone is shifted upstream and outward, the flame length decreases and the percentage concentrations of the O2 and CO decreases and consequently the percentage concentration of CO2 increases. |
