Abstract This study included 60 newborn infants: group I including 25 neonates with sepsis and group II including 35 apparently neonates with no evidence of sepsis as a control group. They were selected from the neonatal intensive care unit of El-Minia Pediatric University Hospital. The age of the septic neonates at the time of sampling was higher than that in the control group(10.96 ± 10.23 vs 3.11 ± 3.75, P value:0.001).The weight of the septic group was lower than that in the control group(1724.01 ± 838.54 vs 2409.42 ± 970.79, P value:0.006). |
