Abstract Although stray cats are numerous in the streets of Kuwait living nearby human dwellings and on animal farms, little information is known about the parasites and diseases they harbor and the threat they may pose to humans, pets and farm animals.A study of parasitic affections of stray cats was conducted across all months in one year extending from June 2011 to May 2012.The cats were sampled from different districts of the six Governorates of Kuwait. In the laboratory, the cats were examined; blood was taken for blood parasite detection. After, humanely killing, the viscera were examined for helminthic parasites. Gastrointestinal tract was removed for isolation of helminthes. |
