Abstract In the present study, the effectiveness of five inhibitors named sodium phosphate, sodium gluconate, o-toluidine, m-toluidine and p-toluidine to inhibit the general corrosion of two low alloy steels grade T2 and grade T22 in 0.5M NaCl solutions at different temperatures were investigated. Electrochemical corrosion monitoring techniques such as potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy were used for this investigation. The second chapter is concerned with the experimental work. The third chapter is concerned with the studying of pitting corrosion of two samples in different concentrations of NaCl solution and at five different temperatures. The fourth, fifth, six chapters are concerned with the studying of pitting corrosion inhibition of steel in NaCl solution by using different concentrations of the inhibitors at five different temperature values. The results obtained from the potentiodynamic and (EIS) techniques were in a good agreement with each other and with the results obtained from (SEM). |
