Abstract

The predominant symptom for malrotation was bilious vomiting. Upper GIT study was the investigation of choice for malrotation and CT abdomen with contrast was more sensitive for detecting volvulus.
Mean operative time was found to be little more than other series especially in early cases which decreased in later cases. Intraoperative bleeding, viscus injury, postoperative return of bowel function, oral intake and average hospital stay were comparable to other Series.
Early postoperative course was smooth and comparable to other series, with little complications as port site infection, paralytic ileus, fibrinous adhesions and feeding difficulties
Laparoscopic management of malrotation has many advantages over open technique such as it is minimal invasive procedure with less postoperative pain, decrease risk of postoperative adhesions, early return of bowel function, short hospital stay and less early and late postoperative complications with minimal scar.
