Abstract MCM-41 and BiVO4/MCM-41 (3, 8, 15, 25 and 35wt.%) samples were prepared by Mixed MCM-41 with different wt% of BiVO4 and then calcined at 550˚C for 6 hrs. And MCM-41/ BiVO4 (1, 5, 8, 10 and 15 wt%) samples were prepared by Mixed BiVO4 with different wt% of MCM-41 and then calcined at 550˚C. XRD shown Presence of sharp peak at 2θ =2.3 which implies the hexagonal pore structure of all samples. And two peaks at 2θ = 4.0o and 4.8o, respectively, due to highly ordered arrangement of hexagonal arrays and characteristic peaks for monoclinic scheelite phase are formed. The TEM and SEM images of MCM-41/BiVO4 and MCM-41/BiVO4 samples, show irregular and similar sphere particles, with nanosize nearly 2.4 nm, the degree of crystallinity of the samples increased with amount MCM-41content and BiVO4 content. EDX results, confirmed the purity of samples, FT-IR spectra of pure BiVO4 and MCM-41 /BiVO4 samples showed existence of MCM41 and BiVO4 . Experiments were conducted to investigate the activity of BiVO4/MCM-41 adsorbents for the removal of methylene blue (MB) and brilliant green from aqueous solutions. The photocatalytic activity of MCM-41/ BiVO4 photocatalysts was measured by the photodegradation of MB and BG under UV/visible light. |
