Abstract Vast quantities of lignocellulosic materials i.e. biomass are available for explotation as potential sources of food fuels and chemical feed stocks biomass in the form of agricultural wastes accumulates every year in large quantities both in industrial and developing countries this results in a deterioration of the environment and a loss of potentially valuable resources if just a fraction of these materials were to to be converted a significant contribution could be made to the overall problem of resource recycle and conservation. |
