Abstract This work was planned with the aim of studying the histological changes that might occur in the cerebellum and hippocampus in the CNS of neonatal rats in response to minimal amount of lead exposure that would not alter the body weight of the examined animals. Various time intervals, as regard the duration and time of initiation of lead administration, were used in this study. The materials used for this study included 168 neonatal rats with 42 nursing mothers. They were distributed in cages each one contained4 neonatal rats with one nursing mother.
