Abstract Primary Outcme : To compare, clinically and radiographically, the effect of surgical corticotomy and low level laser therapy (LLLT) on the rate of orthodontic tooth movement assessed by measuring the rate of maxillary canine retraction. Secondary outcomes : Assess the following during maxillary canine retraction on both the corticotomy and the LLLT sides * Degree of tipping and torque of maxillary canines * Amount of molar anchorage loss and degree of tipping, torque and rotation of maxillary 1st molars * Changes in periodontal condition on both intervention sides, in terms of changes in periodontal condition on both intervention sides, in terms of changes in periodontal pocket depth, gingival margin and gingival and plaque indices. |
