Abstract Endoscopic Retrograde CholangioPancreatography and Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy as an urgent single step management of Acute Biliary Pancreatitis is an effective, more safe and has less complications than other methods of treatment of acute biliary pancreatitis. Its clear advantages include:- Early regaining of intestinal sounds. Early passing of flatus. Early starting of oral feeding avoiding complications of parenteral nutrition. Early ambulation avoiding complications of longrecumbency. Short stay in hospital postoperatively. Patients return to their normal life earlier. Pain is less than other methods of treatment so decrease the use of analgesics that leads to avoiding its side effects. Decreasing the risk of recurrent attacks of pancreatitis more than other methods as the source of stones was removed in the same session of ERCP. Decreasing risks of analgesia as the patient take analgesia one time instead of two in interval cholecystectomy. Decreasing mortality and morbidity rate. Low costs as the patient stays shorter in hospital, use medications less. |
