Abstract
Alcohol is a psychoactive substance and its consumption may lead to alcoholism or alcohol abuse. It is among the world’s top 5 risk factors causing injury, disease, disability, or death. It is the cause for more than 200 disease and injury conditions and has deleterious effects on the liver and pancreas and is a risk factor for cancer development of the upper aerodigestive tract (oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, and esophagus), the large intestine, and the female breast. According to WHO global status report (2014) on alcohol and health, alcohol consumption is responsible for 5.9% of\all global deaths.
