Abstract
Prostaglandin analogues are today the most prescribed antiglaucoma monotherapy because of their potent IOP reduction and good tolerability. Approximately 40 % of patients treated for glaucoma are unable to achieve adequate control of IOP with monotherapy (133) and combination of several drugs are very common.
In this study, IOP before treatment in the prostaglandin group (group I) ranged 23.20-27.80 with mean value 25.60±1.224, in beta-blockers group (group II) ranged 23.40-28.90 with mean value 26.28±1.646 and in prostaglandin/beta-blockers group (group III) ranged 23.00-28.90 with mean value 26.03±1.960. There was no statistical significant difference between the three studied groups in both eyes regarding IOP before treatment (P>0.05).
IOP (after 1 month) in the prostaglandin group ranged 22.90-27.50 with mean value 25.30±1.224, in beta-blockers group ranged 23.10-28.60 with mean value 25.98±1.646 and in prostaglandin/beta-blockers group ranged 22.70-28.60 with mean value 25.73±1.960. There was no statistical significant difference between the three studied groups in both eyes regarding IOP1 (P>0.05).
IOP (after 3 months) in the prostaglandin group ranged 22.90-27.50 with mean value 25.30±1.224, in beta-blockers group ranged 23.10-28.60 with mean value 25.98±1.646 and in prostaglandin/beta-blockers group ranged 22.70-28.60 with mean value 25.73±1.960. There was statistical significant difference between the three studied groups in both eyes regarding IOP2 (P<0.05).

IOP (after 9 months) in the prostaglandin group ranged 18.70-24.50 with mean value 21.73±1.664, in beta-blockers group ranged 18.80-24.60 with mean value 22.50±1.469 and in prostaglandin/beta-blockers group ranged 18.70-25.70 with mean value 24.16±1.864. There was statistical significant difference between the three studied groups in both eyes regarding IOP3 (P<0.05).
IOP (after 12 months) in the prostaglandin group ranged 15.00-21.70 with mean value 18.20±1.950, in beta-blockers group ranged 15.10-21.30 with mean value 19.83±1.773 and in prostaglandin/beta-blockers group ranged 15.90-22.90 with mean value 20.29±1.923. There was statistical significant difference between the three studied groups in both eyes regarding IOP4 (P<0.05).
Finally, there was statistical significant difference between the first visit and the fifth visit regarding to IOP.
