Abstract This thesis is concerned with the study of three-body effect on the 3He charge form factor, elastic and inelastic differential cross sections of p-3He scattering at intermediate and high energies. The effect of the three-body force is introduced through a ground state wave function of 3He nucleus, which contains a short-range correlation factor. Therefore, the short-range correlation effect on the calculated quantity is, also, discussed. The thesis consists of four chapters as follows: Chapter I. A general definition of the three-body force and its general properties with a presentation of the three-body force effect on the calculations of 3He charge form factor, p-3He elastic and inelastic scattering and reactions in the previous works are presented. The fundamental basis of high energy collision theory of Glauber, which is used in calculations, is also presented here. Chapter II. The effects of three-body and short-range correlation on the 3He charge form factor is studied. The calculations performed up to momentum transfer q2 =40 fm-2 The results show that, the short-range correlation leads to the appearance of a series of minima and maxima and the three-body force effect appears only after the second maximum and, in general, is small. We obtained a large disagreement between our results and the experimental data Comparing with the previous works, we can say that, the question of the three-body force effect on the charge form factor is still opl!n and need a more study. Chapter m. The sensitivity of the p-3He elastic scattering differential cross section and p-” He total cross section cr 1 with respect to the three-body force is investigated. The results show that, the three-body force effect is lear after the second maximum of the differential cross section. 1\.lso, the sensitivity with respect to the three-body force parameter decreases with increasing the degree of multi-scattering tenn. T1e sensitivity of cr 1 with respect to the three-body force can’t be observed. Chapter IV. The three-body force and the short-range correlation effects on the p-3He inelastic scattering associated with dissociation processes are studied. In our calculations for the differential cross sections dcr.fdq 2 and dcrdis/dq 2 the small effect of the short-range correlation is )bserved and we have not any evidence on the three-body force effect. In conclusion, the study of tirree-body force effect on the charge form factor, p-3He differer.tial cross sections of elastic and inelastic scattering and total cross section, including it through the ground state wave function of 3He nucleus, does not give a clear evidence on the three-body for e role. Also, the short-range correlation affects only on the charge form factor, p-3He elastic scattering differential cross sectio:1 and p-3He total cross section, but, for the p-3He inelastic scatter:ng can be neglected. |
