Abstract This study was conducted to asses serum zinc level (represent antioxidant agent) and to asses level of copper and NO (represent oxidative agent) before and after 6 months of treatment to find out possible correlation between them and clinical as well as laboratory findings in CLL. Serum zinc is much lower in cases than the control group (P<0.001). Also median level of serum zinc was higher after 6 months of treatment than at initial assessment (P=0.001). There is a negative correlation between serum zinc and stage of the disease (P=0.002). No correlation could be found between serum zinc level and other clinical and laboratory findings (P=0.07). Serum copper was much higher in cases than the control group (P<0.002). Also level of serum copper at diagnosis was much lower after 6 months of treatment than at initial assessment (P = 0.039). Serum copper at diagnosis was negatively correlated with Hemoglobin level, reticulocytic count (P=0.013) (P=0.040) respectively. Serum copper at diagnosis was positively correlated with LDH, B2 microglobulin and CD38 (P=0.012) (P=0.034) (P=0.012) respectively. There is a positive correlation between serum copper after treatment with failure of treatment (P<0.001). No significant correlation was found between serum copper and stage of the disease (P=0.5). Cu/Zn ratio was significantly higher in cases than the controls (p<0.04). No significant correlation was found between Cu/Zn ratio and the stage of the disease (p<0.05). Serum NO is much higher in cases than the control group P<0.001value). No significant correlation was found between serum NO level at diagnosis and its level after 6 months of treatment (P=0.11).
