Abstract The present retrospective study was conducted in Ain Shams University Children’s Hospital NICU using the records of the year 2011. The recorded data included: gestational age, birth weight, gender, mode of delivery, age and diagnosis at admission, order of birth, referral data, relevant perinatal history such as PROM, laboratory results of CRP, TLC, and cultures on admission and subsequently done cultures, duration of hospital stay and outcome. Interventions with risk for sepsis were recorded together with the resistance/sensitivity patterns of the prevalent organisms in comparison to the prescribed antibiotics. |
