Abstract Laparoscopic cystectomy is most frequently chosen treatment for ovarian cyst. One major limitation of the laparoscopic approach is the size of the cyst. Operative laparoscopy is expensive because of the wide use of disposable instruments. It is usually performed under general anesthesia with its risks. The laparoscopic ovarian surgery was associated with 13.3% complication, with 0.6% being major. Ovarian cystectomy is associated with high recurrence rate and loss of primordial follicles with the possible risk of affecting residual ovarian function. |
