Abstract Introduction: Prevalence of blunt thoracic injuries and incidence, outcome and how to diagnose myocardial contusion. The aim of work: Detection of incidence and outcome of myocardial contusion in traumatic patients admitted to Mansoura Emergency Hospital. Research Plan: The study recruited 500 patients with polytrauma and chest trauma. In addition to the thorough history taking and clinical examination, they triply ECG, Echocardiography and cardiac troponin. Results: Our study revealed incidence of myocardial contusion was 7% and the mortality rate in these patients was 31.4%. Conclusion: Using ECG, Echocardiography and cardiac troponin increase the success rate of diagnosis of myocardial contusion. |
