Abstract

Introduction: The use of inferior vena cava collapsibility index for evaluation of hypovolemic patients The aim of work: The present study aimed to compare inferior vena cava (IVC) diameter end-inspiratory (IVCi), end-expiratory (IVCe) and the Caval Index (CI) as non-invasive study with central venous pressure (CVP) in patients with hypovolemia. Research Plan: The study recruited 100 patients undergoing central venous catheterization at Emergency hospital – Mansoura University. Evaluation of intravascular volume status will be performed by bedside ultrasonography and calculation of inferior vena Cava Collapsibility Index and compared with Central venous Pressure Value Results: Our study revealed statistically significant agreement Central venous pressure and inferior Vena Cava collapsibility index in hypovolemic patients Conclusion: Inferior vena Cava Collapsibility index is recommended for evaluation of hypovolemic patients
