Abstract The treatment options for moderate and high myopia withastigmatism include spectacles, contact lenses, and surgical vision correction.Refractive surgical correction can take three basic approaches: reshaping thecornea, replacing the crystalline lens, or implanting an intraocular lens (IOL) while leaving the crystalline lens intact. The cornea can be reshaped with ablative or incisional procedures. Corneal ablation procedures require sufficient corneal biomechanical stability and thickness to correct the refractive error without destabilizing the cornea. This study aims at comparing the results of Toric ICL implantationversus spherical ICL implantation followed by laser ablative procedure to correct the residual error (bioptics) for the correction of moderate and high myopia with astigmatism. |
