Abstract

Summary
Previous studies were held and most of them have found a
significant correlation between either LAVI or ASI and severity of
coronary artery disease after acute coronary syndrome.
The aim of the work is to study the relationship between
LAVI and ASI and severity of coronary artery disease through
calculation of Gensini score.
 Methods:
This study included 100 consecutive patients undergoing
elective coronary angiography. The sample for lipid profile was taken
trans-venous before the procedure and was investigated. The
echocardiographic examination was performed to all subjects before
the procedure. The severity of coronary artery disease was evaluated
by two experienced cardiologist who were blinded to the study. The
independent association between lipid profile, different
echocardiographic parameters and the severity of coronary artery
disease was statistically evaluated using SPSS software.
 Results:
One hundred patients, fifty-one men (51%) and forty-nine
women (49%) with their age ranged from 31 to 74 years, were
enrolled in the study. Of the patients Thirty-nine (39%) were
smokers, forty-two (42%) were diabetics and fifty-five (55%) were
hypertensive. Mean of cholesterol level through the study population.
