Abstract
Abu Qir Thermal Power station is one of west delta electricity Production Company, situated on the Mediterranean coast, 20 km east of Alexandria. The Plant is equipped with five steam turbine generators of a total installed power capacity 900 MW. Like any other thermal power station the unit consists of condenser, feed water pumps, boiler and turbine.The first chapter tells about the history of the Abu Qir Thermal Power station in general. In the second chapter the water treatment station is described. The third chapter describes the boiler and its auxiliaries, the boiler is a controlled circulation reheat boiler with (16) of remotely controllable gas igniters, oil and gas burners. The fourth chapter informs us about the followed steps to start up or to shut down the unit.
