Abstract Our study included 46 patients, their age ranged from (3m–18 years) with a mean age = 4.3 year, the commonest age ranged from 3-5 years. Males were more affected than females (54.3% : 45.6%)The commonest presentation was abdominal swelling (45.6%) followed by pain, and hematuria (23.9% & 19.5% respectively).The commonest affected side was the left kidney (47.8%) followed by the right one (39%), while bilateral affection was seen in (13%) of cases. The lesions with both cystic and solid components were the most common ( 52%) followed by cystic (19%) then solid lesions (6.5%).Wilms tumor was the commonest solid tumor among the studied cases 84.6%. Among the cystic lesion/s in children in our study, PUJO was the most common lesion (52.6%) followed by MCDK (21%), while simple renal cysts were rare (5.2%) in the pediatric population. Both CT and MRI detected capsular infiltration in 58.3%, perinephric fat infiltration in 58.3% and organs relations in the form of bowel loops displacement in 58.3%, liver displacement in 33.3%, splenic displacement in 25% of cases. MRI was superior in detection of hemorrhage than CT ( 58.3% : 16.6%). |
