Abstract A total of 290 specimens of Oreochromis niloticus niloticus and 60 specimens of Tilapia zilli were collected from three locations at Minia Governorate during the period from December 2010 to December 2014. The copepod, Lamproglena monodi was found attaching to the gill filaments of O. niloticus niloticus and T. zilli. All the encountered developmental stages of this copepod were collected during this study. The stages were three nauplius stages, four copepodid stages, a single cyclopoid stage, a single pre-adult stage and the adult stage. In the present study, the morphological structures of each stage in the life history of Lamproglena monodi were discussed and a comparison between the results of this study with those previously described specimens of Lamproglena clariae. |
