Abstract this study aimed to elect some palm products designed to examine Siwi date at different stages and products have been also done of Khalal date like date compote and dry powder which made to take advantage of its nutritional and vital value for making some food products, in addition to fresh un-pollinated date and its dry powder. Also, date palm pollen and doum were used to maximize the usefulness of these products nutritionally and biologically. Methods and Results: Methods include chemical composition, mineral contents, bioactive components, antiradical activity, fractionation of sugars, phenolic compounds and flavonoids and Biological evaluation as cytotoxic effect of extracts as anticancer on some cancer cells and antimicrobial activity of extracts and also statically analysis of all samples. Fresh of Khalal Siwi date had the highest content in all samples of moisture, total phenolic contents, condensed tannins, catechin, catechol, hespirdin and acacetin. Powder of Khalal Siwi date had the highest content of total soluble solids, total sugars, reducing sugars, pH value, pyrogallol and its effect to decrease cell viability to 50% of breast cancer cell and its effect as antifungal. Simi dry Siwi date had the highest content of iron and quercetrin. Rutab Siwi date had the highest content of protocatechuic and its effect as antibacterial. Compote of Khalal Siwi date had the highest content of total acidity, antiradical activity and its effect to decrease cell viability to 50% of prostate and larynx cancer cells. Fresh un-pollinated Siwi date had the highest content of hydrolysoluble tannins and its effect to decrease cell viability to 50% of colon cancer cell. Date palm pollen had the highest contents of ash, calcium, magnesium, zinc and manganese but doum fruit had the highest contents of potassium and sodium. Conclusion: We neglected very important bio-active products. Un-pollinated date is considered as a byproduct of the date production. It is used as an animal feeder. However, it contains antioxidant compounds and its main effect as anticancer and antimicrobial. So, we recommended using the un-pollinated date as a human food or as food additives. Palm and date extracts can be used as adjuvant treatment and food supplement after or during chemotherapy because of their abilities to induce apoptosis and anti-proliferative activity. |
