Abstract Introduction: Burn injury is not a static injury, it may be directed towards healing or get worse, so we can say that burn wounds are dynamic in nature. As the burn wound initiates inflammatory response that produces mediators which may cause vasoconstriction. We can use corticosteroids to control the immune response and thus improve wound healing The aim ofthe work: To assess the effect of using systemic and topical corticosteroid in early burn (first 72 hours) regarding wound healing process. Research Plan:. 60 patients divided in two groups. group A got (8mg IV dexamethasone+ topical betamethasone valerate 0.1% cream for 3 days). group B (Mebo + gentamycin cream dressing) then biopsy is taken in the 10th day for superficial second and 18th day for deep second degree burn and examined histopathologically by Hematoxyline and Eosin, Masson’s trichrome stain and Alpha smooth muscle actin Results:good angiogenesis formation and less collagen formation in the dermis Conclusion:.Corticosteroids did not impair wound healing if applied in the proper dose and proper duration and selected topical agent |
