Abstract Aim of Study The seismic interpretation of the study area indicates that the main structural elements are NW-SE normal faults and NE-SW reverse faults. These faults are probably inherited from old tectonic events and rejuvenated during Late Cretaceous- Early Tertiary. The main results in this thesis 1- The study area is lying between two major faults. The first one is reverse fault and oriented NE-SW. The second one is normal fault and oriented NW-SE. This area represents the hanging wall of both. This area dissected by a number of small NW-SE faults. The area characterized by high total porosity, decrease average total water saturation, increase of sand/shale ratio and hydrocarbon saturation. This clearly indicates that the structural elements play a good role in enhancement of the petrophysical properties in the study area. 2- The seismic interpretation of the study area indicates that the main structural elements are NW-SE normal faults and NE-SW reverse faults. These faults are probably inherited from old tectonic events and rejuvenated during Late Cretaceous- Early Tertiary. 3- The hydrocarbon potentiality increases towards the highest Northwestern and the Northeastern parts of the region , the the results from the petrophysicals analysis proved that the middle and lower Bahariya Zones are the most productive ones. By the combination between the seismic lines interpretation and the petrophysical analysis , it is easy to detect the best productive place for oil production. |
