Abstract Nursing staff play important role in patient education. Patient education enables patients to assume better responsibility for their own health care leading to improve ability to manage their illness and provide opportunities to choose healthier lifestyles. Nursing staff confront man barriers that impede them from doing effective patient education as administrative, environmental, nursing staff and patient related barriers. To provide appropriate patient education, these barriers should be remove and provide support from administration, enough nursing staff, time,training program, budget, place and effective materials to improve patient satisfaction. Patient satisfaction regarding nursing staff educational role is very important since it helps to identify potential areas for improvement,which in turn can increase the effectiveness of healthcare system so the aim of the study was to explore relationship between nursing staff patient educational role and patients’ satisfaction. The present study was conducted at EL-Mogamaa EL-Tepee Hospital at Tanta city which affiliated to Health Insurance. The study subjects included all available (n=210) nursing staff working at the previously mentioned setting and representative patient sample(n=500)that was admitted to hospital during one month. |
