Abstract Summary and Conclusion Identification of person is one of the significant aspects of forensic investigation. Sex, age, race and stature are considered as important parameters for identification. Estimation of stature of an individual from the skeletal material or from the mutilated or amputated limbs or parts of limbs plays an important role in facilitating personal identification in incident of murder, accidents or natural disasters. Sex determination is vital in further investigation of age and stature of the remains owing to the differences in age of epiphyseal fusion. Thus, accurate sex determination provides some valuable evidences to a forensic scientist with regard to identification of remains. In this study, the hand was chosen as a tool for identification as it can provide valuable information about the stature, age, and sex of the person when recovered and brought for examination. There is paucity of studies considering sex and stature assessment of Egyptians and Malaysians using hand dimensions. The aim of the present study was to evaluate hand measurements as a potential tool for determination of sex and estimation of stature in a sample of Egyptian and Malaysian people and to conduct a comparative study between them. The present study was conducted on 300 volunteers (200 Egyptians and 100 Malaysian) from both sexes whose age was above 21 years old and less than 30 years old.
