Abstract Colorectal is the third most common malignant cancer in the UK after lung and breast malignancy. Although the third most common malignancy, colon cancer is the second most frequent cause of cancer death. Around 4% of the UK population will develop colon cancer at some stage of their lives. As a result, much effort is spent screening and diagnosing colon cancer at the earliest possible stage when a cure is possible. The primary treatment for colon cancer is surgery. The part of the large bowel with cancer is removed, along with surrounding lymph nodes. cancer found in the ascending colon and hepatic flexture, the right side is removed by right hemicolectomy or extended right hemicol ectomy. Traditionally ,approach to right colon cancer is through open exploration but now Laparoscopic right hemicolectomy is an advanced cancer surgery in today’s era. laparoscopic right hemicolectomy can be done by medial or lateral or combined approach. This is prospective randomized study carried out on 30 patients admitted to department of surgery in menoufia university from September (2016) to September (2018) and diagnosed as right sided colon cancer .
